How To Enter Your EIN On The Texting Business Registration Form
Follow these steps to locate your company’s EIN and enter it correctly.
Before You Begin
Important: All information provided must EXACTLY match the information associated with your company’s EIN.
Note: These instructions do not apply if your company is outside the U.S.
Find Your EIN Using a W‑2 (U.S. Only)
As a member of Human Resources, this shortcut may help you quickly find your company’s EIN on your own W‑2 form.
Look for Box b on your most recent W‑2. It is labeled Employer Identification Number (EIN) and is near the top-left corner of the form. As long as your employer has not changed ownership or corporate structure since the W‑2 was created, that number is still your employer’s EIN.1
Enter And Verify Your EIN On The Form
On the Texting Business Registration Form, enter your company’s business registration number. In the U.S., this is your EIN.
Copy and paste or type the number exactly as it appears on the W‑2 into the corresponding field on the Texting Business Registration Form.
Verify that the number is an exact match before submitting your registration form.
Reporting/Troubleshooting/Best Practices
If your employer has changed ownership or corporate structure since the W‑2 was created, the EIN shown on that W‑2 may no longer be current.
Ensure the value copied from Box b matches the value you enter on the Texting Business Registration Form exactly, including digits and formatting.
