Overview

This article is for all users who need to ensure that emails and system communications from the ATS are delivered. It provides the required emails, server hostnames, and IP addresses to safelist (also called “whitelisting”), plus Office 365 ATP considerations, billing and support communication senders, optional integrations, and security details.

How To Safelist Emails, Server Hostnames, And IP Addresses

Follow the guidance and lists below to set up your email and network safelists.

Understand Safelisting Versus Adding Contacts

  • Adding an email as a “contact” is not the same as safelisting; safelisting must be done at the server level.

  • If your IT department has questions, they can contact our Support Team for assistance.

Important: Safelisting is configured by your IT team at the mail or security gateway. Adding a personal contact does not prevent filtering.

Office 365 Clients

Important: Changes to ATP Safe Links or Safe Attachments policies can override prior safelist settings. Reapply safelist entries after policy updates.

Required For ATS Functionality

  • Emails from the system are processed by Mailgun.

  • The specific sender email addresses are in the Emails section below; IPs are listed in the Server Hostnames and IP Addresses section.

Security Details

  • Are these server hostnames and emails SSL secure?

    • Emails do not apply to the HTTPS vs. HTTP distinction; the other items listed are hostnames, not HTTP nor HTTPS.

    • For email safelisting, most email hosts require whitelisted hostnames. Many email hosts already require HTTPS or TLS to send and receive emails.

    • The hostname’s purpose is so that, regardless of HTTPS or HTTP, the system evaluates that an email is coming from a whitelisted host.

    • If desired, clients can safelist these hostnames and then blacklist any HTTP traffic (usually port 80) or other insecure methods of email transport. Alternatively, they can specify only whitelisted TLS, SSL, or other secure mail ports (such as 443, 587, etc.).

    • The transports used support secure connections; configuration controls remain with the client’s IT team.

Reporting/Troubleshooting/Best Practices

If a user is still not receiving email:

  • Verify the email address is correct, including the correct domain suffix (for example, .com or .net).

  • Check the spam/junk folder. If the emails are there, mark them as not spam/junk.

  • Check with IT/server filters to confirm the address is not blocked at the server.

  • Contact our Support Team with the specific email address that is not working.

  • Verify that the applicable emails, server hostnames, and IP addresses listed above have been safelisted.
